Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP) is a neuropeptide with a wide range of functions, including vasodilation, regulation of smooth muscle activity, and control of epithelial cell secretion. It acts as a neuromodulator and neurotransmitter in the gastrointestinal tract and other tissues. VIP is also involved in immune regulation, potentially playing a role in anti-inflammatory effects.
